An Important Update on the 2020 New Hampshire Film Festival
After careful consideration and much deliberation, we have come to the extremely difficult decision to postpone the 20th New Hampshire Film Festival celebration, originally scheduled for October 2020. While we are extremely optimistic that the Seacoast community will recover from the pandemic, we don’t feel that we can properly plan and execute the multi-day event with so much uncertainty still ahead.
As we watched the course of events unfold in March, we never in a million years imagined NHFF would still be affected this October.
NHFF has always operated with our community in mind. Our goal is always to give back to the Seacoast and the NH film community. While NHFF does provide a great deal of positive economic impact, it also relies heavily on an abundance of in-kind and financial support to make the festival a success. We have decided to take a step back this year to let our venues, restaurants, and local businesses heal.
While we are heartbroken we won’t be gathering this fall as usual, we are taking this opportunity as a unique gift of time to focus on our programming and strengthening our organization so that we can genuinely come back bigger and better than before.
We are forever grateful to our sponsors who have supported us throughout the years and we hope you will join us in supporting each and every one of them. We are also hopeful our venue partners will re-open soon, and when they do, we hope you will support them too if you are able. We know it won’t be long until we can gather, share, and celebrate the amazing art and artists that NHFF works tirelessly to showcase. We can’t wait to get together with everyone and collectively experience these stories as a community again.
The 20th Annual New Hampshire Film Festival will resume in October 2021, and we can’t wait to see you! In the meantime, stay healthy and be sure to support our community and our independent filmmakers — past, present and future.
