Announcing David Dastmalchian as the 2015 Grand Prize Screenplay Judge!

We are thrilled to announce David Dastmalchian as the Grand Prize Screenplay Judge for the 15th Annual New Hampshire Film Festival! In this role, Dastmalchian will select the winning scribe for this year’s NHFF Screenplay Competition.

Dastmalchian is known for his work as an actor, writer and producer. His feature film debut was as the Joker’s deranged henchman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. Other notable acting appearances include his role as the Russian hacker, Kurt, in Marvel Studio’s Ant-Man (directed by Peyton Reed), as well as his role as Bob Taylor in Prisoners, opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman. Dastmalchian is also known for his principal roles on Intruders (BBC), CSI: Cyber, Almost Human (Fox), CSI (CBS), The League (FX), and the Showtime series, Ray Donovan.

Dastmalchian made his screenwriting debut with Animals, which earned him the Special Jury Prize for Courage in Storytelling at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival in Austin, TX. Dastmalchian is also the writer and producer of the feature film, All Creatures Here Below, which is being filmed in 2015 with an award-winning team including Animals director, Collin Schiffli. His plays That’s What They Say and Myself of My State have been produced in Chicago (WNEP, Caffeine Theatre) and his short film, KEEN, was awarded BEST SCREENPLAY at the New York Independent Film Festival. He currently writes and produces the web series, Premature, in NYC.
