An American Solo

New Hampshire resident Col. Norman Phillips (USAF ret.) is profiled from his parentless childhood in a Massachusetts mill town, to decorated WWII fighter pilot, to Commander of the US’ first nuclear-armed fighter squadron, to fighter pilot in Vietnam where he was shot down over Laos. Barely surviving, Norm retired from the Air Force and embarked on his second life, earning his BFA and MFA in Art at UMass, where he taught for 19 years. He is currently working on his 2nd novel.
