Join us for a talk and Q&A with award-winning filmmaker Lilian T. Mehrel about creating a powerful pitch worthy of a million-dollar prize. The art of pitching is a crucial skill for storytellers, at multiple stages throughout the process of bringing a film to life. Lilian is the winner of the Tribeca AT&T Untold Stories Award for her debut feature Honeyjoon, which premiered at Tribeca and 50 festivals. It won the Audience Choice Award at the 2025 New Hampshire Film Festival and collected over 15 Audience and Jury Awards for Best Feature at other festivals. Honeyjoon released in theaters June 2026 and continues to play, becoming an indie theatrical phenomenon.
The Tribeca AT&T Untold Stories Award is the biggest film production prize in the world. This year’s award includes a $1.2M film production funding prize, mentorship, and the chance to premiere at the following year’s Tribeca Festival.
