Film Producer and Longtime New Hampshire Resident Amy Greene to Receive the Van McLeod Award
New Hampshire Film Festival (NHFF) is excited to announce that passes for the 24th annual film festival are officially on sale. Passes can be purchased online on the festival’s official website, or in person at The McKeon Ticketing Hub at The Music Hall. This year’s festival will take place October 15 – 18, 2026. For the second consecutive year (and 11th time overall), NHFF was recognized by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the “50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee in 2026,” highlighting the festival’s continued growth and reputation among filmmakers nationwide.
NHFF is an annual fall event that unites professional filmmakers, screenwriters and film industry experts with film lovers in the heart of downtown Portsmouth, one of New England’s most vibrant and walkable cultural destinations. With its historic charm, thriving arts scene, acclaimed restaurants, and coastal backdrop, Portsmouth provides an ideal setting for filmmakers and audiences to connect both on and off screen, further cementing NHFF’s growing reputation as a must-attend destination on the festival circuit. The festival continues to be an Academy Award® qualifying festival for the Short Film Awards by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Furthermore, longtime New Hampshire resident Amy Greene will be this year’s recipient of the Van McLeod Award. Greene is a stunt coordinator, stunt performer, and feature film producer whose recent projects include A24’s THE DRAMA, upcoming A24 Anthony Bourdain biopic TONY, Academy Award® winning films THE HOLDOVERS and SOUND OF METAL, and Academy Award® nominated KNIVES OUT. Other films in her resume have won awards at Sundance Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and The Independent Spirit Awards.
The Van McLeod Award is named for the late Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Cultural Resources and honors an individual who has made a significant impact in the film and tv industry, and hails from the Granite State. A champion of New Hampshire arts, McLeod’s work has had an enormous impact on the state as a whole. Past recipients include Marcy Carsey, Ken Burns, Mike O’Malley, Eliza Coupe, Gordon Clapp and Ernest Thompson, among others.
