Did you know that Tim Burton filmed his first animated short when he was only 13? His early start led to a well-respected career and brought us beloved films like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and many more.

Since the debut of our annual festival 17 years ago, we’ve seen first-hand how films have the power to change lives. That’s why we believe in supporting the younger generation and encouraging them to pursue their passion for film through The New Hampshire Film Festival Young Filmmakers Workshop!

What’s Involved?

This is an exciting weekend-long event and an incredible opportunity for passionate, young film-lovers!

Under the guidance of industry professionals, aspiring filmmakers will put their skills to work while also learning the ins and outs of filmmaking. Workshop attendees will be matched with other aspiring filmmakers to produce an original piece of work that will be presented during the NHFF’s closing ceremony on Sunday, October 14.

The weekend is led by communications media specialist and local filmmaker John Herman.

When is the Workshop?

Our 2018 workshop begins the evening of Friday, October 12, at our opening ceremony. In order to attend the workshop, you’ll need to be available during the following dates and times:*
