The 2016 Winning Screenplay Is…

It’s never an easy thing for our judges to select their top pick in the annual Screenplay Competition! It was another incredible year for submissions, and with less than one week until NHFF 2016, we’re pleased to announce the winning screenplay:

ROSALIE by Adam Whitaker

When the teenaged Rosalie goes missing, theories range from her being a runaway to a murder victim. Some in the small town blame the parents and their troubled marriage as the rumor mill produces an ever-growing list of suspects and the detective must sort it out quickly as the hours tick by. Only Rosalie’s best friend has the right name in mind – and she’s not talking.

For winning this year’s competition, Mr. Whitaker will be awarded a two-week screenwriter’s residency on Star Island. This is a one of a kind writer’s retreat located on one of New Hampshire’s most scenic locations.

Biggest of congratulations to Mr. Whitaker for this achievement. We’d also like to extend a huge thank you to Bill Phillips for his contribution to this year’s competition, as well as to all of the talented writers who made this year’s competition one of the best yet.
