Did you know they’ve all done short films within the past 10 years? Just last year in 2022, Academy Award-nominated actor Riz Ahmed won the Best Live Action Short Oscar for a short film he wrote and starred in called The Long Goodbye. Shorts are making a long-felt impact.

Learn more about why shorts are so popular with filmmakers and viewers, what makes a short film stand out, what short film distribution platforms are out there, how awards eligibility and selection works, and what festivals look for in shorts programming.
