This Month’s Watch List: Fan-Favorites from the 2016 NHFF
This month’s watch list features three fan-favorites from the 2016 New Hampshire Film Festival. We have a Parisian drama, a comedy revival of a cult classic from the 90s, and an action/crime film that puts family loyalty into question.
Things to Come (L’avenier), 2016
In this award-winning French film, Oscar nominee Isabelle Huppert plays Nathalie, a philosophy teacher with a very demanding family. When her husband of 25 years announces that he is leaving her for another woman, Nathalie suddenly finds herself adrift and with a newfound sense of freedom.

Wiener-Dog, 2016
The character Dawn Wiener first appeared in the 1995 coming-of-age film, Welcome to the Dollhouse, which was also written and directed by Todd Solondz. Flash forward to present day and Dawn (played by Greta Gerwig) is a veterinary technician who takes in a lovable dachshund. When she leaves for a road trip, the dog is passed around to different owners including a young boy, a troubled grandmother and granddaughter, and a screenwriting professor.
