The New Hampshire Film Festival is pleased to announce their continued partnership with The Music Hall and its sister venue The Music Hall Loft for the 14th annual festival October 16-19. In addition to being two of the NHFF screening venues, The Music Hall and The Music Hall Loft host an array of incredible events throughout the year. NHFF is thrilled to move forward in this cooperative with an organization so dedicated to the arts and committed to bringing the best in international entertainment to the Seacoast.
One of the many events The Music Hall is presenting this spring is the world premiere of “The Granite Stoke”, taking place Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Dylan Ladds and Ryan Scura’s feature documentary chronicles a community of surfers hardened by New Hampshire’s mere eighteen-mile coast and harsh New England winters.
Two short films derived from the feature length documentary were shown at the 2012 and 2013 New Hampshire Film Festivals. The short pieces, entitled “Salmon Theory” and “New England Blood” (video below), were a hit with NHFF audiences and has allowed the anticipation to build for the film in its entirety. Capturing the spirit of adventure and dedication with beautiful cinematography that illuminates the oft forgot NH coast, this is truly a film not to be missed.
All profits from the event will be donated to The Molly Fund, which supports children and their families dealing with cancer and the New Hampshire Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to protecting the oceans, waves, and beaches.
