#NHFF Special Guest Mike O’Malley Announced, Joins Flea & MacLaren as Festival VIPs

Mike O'Malley returns to New Hampshire Film Festival with his TV show Survivor's Remorse

The New Hampshire Film Festival announced that Mike O’Malley will  return to the festival for the October 16th–19th festival in Portsmouth. NHFF Executive Director Nicole Gregg made the announcement to a packed Thirsty Moose Tap House at the NHFF Press & Kick-Off Party on October 2nd.

Mike O’Malley attended NHFF in 2012 with his film Certainty, and was presented with the 2012 Van MacLeod Award for outstanding achievements in the film, television and entertainment industries. This year, O’Malley will be hosting a special screening of his new television show, Survivor’s Remorse, a Starz comedy. O’Malley is the show’s Writer and Executive Producer (along with Executive Producer Lebron James). Survivor’s Remorse will be screening the episode at the Seacoast Rep at 1:35pm on Sunday, October 19th, followed by a Q&A session with O’Malley.

Also attending the New Hampshire Film Festival are special guests Flea and Michelle MacLaren.

Flea, most well-known as the bassist from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is attending the festival with his film, Low Down, which is the Saturday night spotlight film. Low Down will be playing at 8:15pm at the Music Hall Historic Theater on Saturday, October 18th. Flea will be doing an audience Q&A session immediately following the screening, along with other members of the film’s cast and crew. Also appearing in Low Down and attending the festival is Portsmouth’s own Sandha Khin, who attended Portsmouth High School.

Michelle MacLaren, Executive Producer of the critically-acclaimed hit show Breaking Bad, will be be in attendance for a special program. MacLaren, who has also directed episodes of Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, will be showing clips and scenes from all three shows at a screening at the Seacoast Rep on Saturday, October 18th at 12:55pm. Rae Dawn Chong will be moderating the session, and MacLaren will be answering questions. This is a not-to-be-missed event, not only for filmmakers hoping to learn from her experience and success, but also for and all fans of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead.
