NHFF Young Filmmakers Workshop: Spots Still Available!

What can you do with 48 hours, film equipment, and instruction from movie-making gurus?

The 2019 New Hampshire Film Festival (NHFF) is inviting young filmmakers to find out by participating in a weekend-long educational workshop culminating in the production of their own movie.

The Young Filmmakers Workshop is intended for 14 to 18-year-old high school students who have an interest in film. The program, directed by communications media specialist and local filmmaker John Herman, will teach students about the technical aspects of movie-making, including how to use equipment and working with actors. All of the equipment will be provided and no previous filmmaking experience is required.

The workshop offers students the opportunity to participate first-hand in the production of a film, from beginning to end. Not only will they create and shoot a film throughout the weekend, the movie will also premiere at the end of the festival on Sunday night at The Music Hall.

Students will also be surrounded by film culture and meet others who share the same interests, with the opportunity to create bonds that last far beyond the weekend’s festivities.

The Young Filmmakers Workshop will be held:

  • Friday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. (an opening ceremony meeting)
  • Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Please note that times are approximate and are subject to change; details and more information on logistics will be provided upon registration. The cost is $150 and participants can register online.
