Route 1 Billboard and Fleet St Banner

Those of you Route 1 regulars may have noticed a change in the scenery along the stretch from Hampton to Portsmouth.  A New Hampshire Film Festival billboard went up directly across from Lagos Lone Oak Ice Cream in Rye on Sunday September 3.  “4 Days, 80 films, celebrity guests, world premieres” the billboard reads with the festival dates, October 13-16 2011, and logos of the event’s major sponsors: Francis Ford Coppola Wine, Absolut Vodka, Moet & Chandon, Access Sports Medicine, NH Liquor Outlet, and Vital Design. Another banner with the festival’s logo went up on downtown Portsmouth’s IOS Building located on Fleet St. The banners are in effort to conjure a local buzz about the upcoming indie film extravaganza.
