Grand Prize is a Two-Week Screenwriter’s Residency at the Star Island Family Retreat and Conference Center during the summer season of 2015. The top screenwriter and a guest (in the same room) will receive room, board, and ferry transportation from Portsmouth, NH to Star Island, which sits among the Isles of Shoals in the Atlantic Ocean off the coasts of Maine and New Hampshire. In addition to the residency, the writer and a guest will receive two lobster dinners and internet access. The residency’s Saturday to Saturday dates are to be worked out between the winning scribe and Star Island staff; the weeks can be taken separately or back to back during the 2015 Star Island summer season. Also awarded is a “Granny” — a 10 lb. granite brick sourced from a quarry in New Hampshire (a.k.a. The Granite State). The Grand Prize Winner will receive complimentary accommodations for two (in the same room) and Two Filmmaker Passes to attend the 2014 New Hampshire Film Festival. Note: Prizes are subject to change; NHFF cannot be held responsible or liable for the sponsor’s prize package offerings.
