Call for Entries to the 20th Annual Edition of the New Hampshire Film Festival!

PORTSMOUTH, NH (January 15, 2020) – Film and screenplay submissions are now open to the 20th Annual Edition of the New Hampshire Film Festival, taking place October 15-18, 2020 throughout downtown Portsmouth. Entries are accepted only via the festival’s exclusive submission partner, FilmFreeway.

The mission of the New Hampshire Film Festival is to inspire audiences with thought-provoking cinematic stories from visionary talents in independent filmmaking, and to provide a platform for emerging artists to advance their craft, engage with the community and promote to industry leaders.  The festival is consistently ranked as one of the Top 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee by MovieMaker Magazine.

Three films featured in last year’s festival received Oscar nominations this week: The Cave for Documentary Feature, The Lighthouse for Cinematography, and The Neighbor’s Window for Live Action Short. Two previous festival Artists-in-Residence, Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert were also nominated for Documentary Feature with their latest film American Factory.

Films and screenplays must be entered for consideration through the festival’s exclusive submission partner, FilmFreeway.

Mark your calendars – submission deadlines are:

  • Early Bird Deadline: May 15
  • Official Deadline: June 15
  • Late Entry Deadline: July 15
  • Extended Deadline (Screenplays): August 1
  • Extended Deadline (Films): September 1
