The Lighthouse, Saturday Night Spotlight at NHFF

New Hampshire Film Festival (NHFF) attendees will have the unique opportunity to see Robert Egger’s new film, The Lighthouse, Saturday Oct. 19th at The Music Hall at 9:10pm.

The Lighthouse, featuring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, is premiering at NHFF the same weekend it opens in limited release in New York and Los Angeles. Pattinson is rumored to receive a best actor nomination for his role.

The black-and-white independent movie is directed by Robert Eggers, the visionary filmmaker behind the modern horror masterpiece The Witch. His newest film tells the tale of two lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.

Eggers, who is from Lee, New Hampshire, premiered his breakout feature debut, The Witch, at the 2015 NHFF. This year, in addition to the screening of The Lighthouse, festival-goers will also have the chance to interact with Eggers, during a post film Q&A via Skype.

The Lighthouse has already received high praise. A24, the entertainment company distributing the film in North America, plans to campaign for Pattinson’s lead actor Oscar nomination.

Pattinson is best known for his role in the Twilight movies, while four-time Oscar nominee Dafoe has been in dozens of films including the 2017’s NHFF featured film The Florida Project.

The Lighthouse screening is open to VIP, Weekend, and Saturday passholders on a priority basis in that order. Passes can be purchased online and individual tickets can only be purchased at the door prior to the screening, if space is available.
